Formed in 2023 in Oslo, Jordsjuk are Black Metal artists with one fuck of a pedigree. Made up of former members of Norwegian legends like Urgehal, Nordjevel, and Djevel, this band knows its Black Metal and how to deliver it with full force.
With four truly outstanding musicians joining forces to channel their experience into a fierce, highly focused project, it’s no surprise that Jordsjuk has arrived in Norway’s Black Metal environment with considerable impact. A potent debut EP Råtner på Rot emerged in 2024, followed swiftly by the first album, Naglet il livet, a year later, and Jordsjuk won immediate recognition from both the Norwegian Black Metal and Norwegian music worlds.
Winning the highly prestigious Spellmann award for Naglet il livet has further enhanced their status as premier Black Metal artists, as has a relentless run of live shows and festival appearances where they have rapidly established their reputation as a killer live act. Just how aggressive, powerful and deeply infused they are with the Satanic Spirit of True Norwegian Black Metal you can judge from their new live recording of Rottebit captured by Jørn Veberg at Blå, Oslo, in March this year.
In September, Naglet til livet was reissued in new vinyl and CD editions, with the Råtner på rot EP being released on vinyl for the first time. Watch out for a new album release next year and plenty more live performances.
