To create the adversarial, brutal and ruthless anti-cosmic sonic terrorism that makes True Kvlt Satanic Black Metal so eviscerating requires two things:

  1. A deep and real devotion to the Cult of Satan
  2. An instinctive capability to convey that vibe and represent Satan musically and lyrically.

This is no small task, let’s face it. A lot of the Black Metal released over the past four decades or so has laid claim to being ‘Satanic’. Many recognised bands like Marduk, Sargeist, Behexen, not to mention the great originators of this music, Bathory, Hellhammer, and Merciless, represent Satan through their releases and live performances. But at times, the machinery of the music business and its PR operation generates rather excessive hyperbole and sensationalism around today’s Satanic artists, and this is not what Satanism is about.

So when you hear the real thing, written and delivered with the requisite adversarial hammer blow that penetrates the blackness in your mind and soul, there is no mistaking that primal, malign sensation. Think, The Arrival of Satan, think Black Witchery, and Cultes des Ghoules.

Immortal Flame, hailing from Sala in the dark lands of northern Sweden, is the creation of Satanic Tony, who covers all instruments and voices. This mysterious, dark musical entity has been recording and releasing punk- and thrash-inspired Black Metal for years, reaching the pinnacle of the Satanic Black Metal World.

New release, Wrath of Satan, released very late in 2025 through Depressive Illusions Records, follows a series of well-received demos and a recent three-way split with Hessian and Teufelsdom (Consultations of the Obscure in the Shadow of Antique Darkness). It is a brutal, lo-fi and profoundly malign assault on the inner sanctum of the false and empty world of humanity, delivered with the devotion, destruction and apocalyptic violence that attacks the very idea of ‘God’, and tears it into shreds with demonic fury.

The sonic assault is rhythmically intense with well-crafted compositions lying menacingly beneath the distorted guitars and furious drums, and bass. To really experience it to the fullest, listen alone, in a forest on the darkest winter night. Then it will make total sense and act as a catalyst to open up the darkness of the Soul. Each track is a master class in delivering the Fist of the Satanist full into the face of the devout and their scum hypocrisy. At its heart, Wrath of Satan is a fantastic exercise in spiritual warfare with tracks like Rise Our Master, Satan’s Legions, and We Are Evil delivering remorseless blows to the head of the failed human gods, moronic human leaders and the mess and chaos of a shit-stained human society.

Highly recommended if you feel and breathe the real thing. The aura of Satan in raw, punk-driven Black Metal. Because where faith ends, the abyss awakens. And in its fire, Satan’s will is made flesh.
