Today, 17th September 2022, is a special day because it marks exactly one week for the release of the third album by one of the most badass bands in the extreme metal scene. Yes, I’m talking about NORDJEVEL. But why all this euphoria? Well, the band not only consists of established musicians from bands such as Ragnarok, Myrkskog and Dark Funeral and started its appearance in renowned festivals like Inferno, Kaltenbach Open Air, and In Flammen Open Air, to name a few. But from the beginning, it received not only positive quotations and high scores from critics, but it gained fervent followers, your humble reviewer here as well.

With Gnavhòl, NORDJEVEL presents themselves much more dingy and evil; here, they drive themselves by war, destruction and hellish esoteric beliefs.

The band states: “Gnavhòl is darker, more dynamic and technically on another level than before. This is how we want Nordjevel to sound.”

The album features ten insane tracks composed of super sharp and unwieldy drumming, assiduously psycho guitar riffs, and background vocals that intertwine with the gutturals vocals.
Dude, damn it! What a fabulous album. The momentum, the speed of light and the encroachment of aggression on the tracks are astounding.

Nordjevel has built from the beginning of the career to the present moment a black metal absolutely & frankly violent and in the darkest possible vein. I can only wish you to be devastated by this insane and downright masterful release that is Gnavhòl. How I like my black metal? Nordjevel directly from hell.
This album is a strong contender for the best black metal album of 2022. Do you still have doubts? Nope.
