Today I bring a special review of a band born in 2001 in the icy southern lands of beautiful Chile. In fact, the band has been active since 1997 but under another name. Years later, the members left for Sweden, where they remain until today. In 2010, already in Sweden, the band released their fourth album, Exaltation of Wisdom. Incidentally, they were well received by both critics and fans. In 2014 came another heavyweight album, Ain Soph Aur, and Uprising of the Fallen three years later.
Now, five years after his last endeavour, Hetroertzen comes out of his catacomb to present us with another album full of symbolism and mysticism. What attracts me a lot once I’m a lover of the dark arts, Vampyre magick, and a confessed Luciferian. “Knowledge, knowledge above all and forever”. ~ FF ..)O(..

The band states: “A new day has come to pass. A new ray pierces the veil of darkness and confusion.
A new gem feeds the astonished sight and yet we walk through times of uncertainty before facing the switching Era….
After five years of silence and lots of work, Hetroertzen finally give you the first Volume of “Phosphorus”, which is the crown for our latest Opus or the new Sephira in our artistic/spiritual development. […]”
Phosphorus Vol 1′ consists of nine tracks and a bonus track available on the CD version.
Hetroertzen’s music is pure black metal from the oldies, and there’s no harm in that, as those who enjoy extreme metal value the roots and the experimentation, new sub-genres that are perfected over the years in the same way.
Assuming that good old black metal is covered in ice and dark guitars with lonely dissonances, on this record, you’ll find the classic arpeggios of BM’s glory years, guttural, raw vocals and spoken passages that will stab your heart and go freeze your veins.
What is found in Phosphorus Vol. 1 is a construction of sound textures, permeated by this dark veil of mystery that accompanies the well-structured lyrics and full of interpretations not only for beginners in the mysteries but also for those with a minimum of curiosity in the search for the truth that exists hidden in plain sight.
Hetroertzen is all that; it’s classic and theatrical, and the themes are fully orchestrated and well arranged in all records until now, and that culminates in this seventh full-length that you can’t miss. Unless you’re a wannabe.
