New York City-based VISERION is back with the single Reborn in Darkness, after the acclaimed debut Full-length Natural Selection.
The band, characterized by a classic and raw black metal approach, furiously metamorphoses it into other extreme metal influences such as death metal, grindcore and even progressive metal.

At the time Natural Selection was released in August 2021, the band’s formation was Durden (Drums, Backing vocals), John M. (Guitars, Backing vocals), Slaughter (Vocals and Bass).

The band updated the line-up, and now, along with the release of the new single Reborn in Darkness, they have revealed some changes and new members. Thus, Tasso Diakov (Bass) and Cris V. (Guitars) joined forces in this endeavour; Slaughter left the bass and dedicated himself to guitars, and Durden continued on drums.

About the single, the band comments:
“Reborn in Darkness tells the story of Oryx’s rebirth from Destiny. Oryx goes through transformations and becomes more powerful. This motif stood out to us mainly due to our line-up changes.”

The single, inspired by the game Destiny, is full of poetic vitality and brutality. It honestly narrates the band’s transformations, the sound is more polished, and the instrumentation is cohesive. Most vicious and eloquent vocals with hints of death engage in unison with the guitars and bass, and the drums engage in a visceral and phenetic way.

Reborn in Darkness is captivating from start to finish and shows very clearly that the band is back with full force and, this time matured and with more musical quality. It’s a shame that this track is only 3:32 minutes; it could be 5 or 6, in my humble opinion here.
