Honouring the Summer Solstice, the band Urku Lllanthu released today, 21st June, the first single from their third album set to release via Takiri Productions in early 2023. The work of the one-man band addresses the culture and spirituality of the Andean peoples. Combining ancient musical instruments and elements of Dungeon Synth and Dark Folk Metal, Urku Llanthu’s songs provide a unique journey into the ethereal past. Each piece has the power to elevate the mind and transmute it uniquely.
RUPACHINA, a word in the Quechua language, can be translated as fire. In this musical composition, the transcendence of the ancestral celebrations of the original peoples of the Andes mountain range is fused and amalgamated.

Based on the custom of burning CHAMIZA, a herb that grows in moist and cool lands, Andean peoples transmute the energies left over and renew them to start a new life cycle.
Ancient peoples have always seen fire as a healing, energetic and spiritual element; that also goes in these expressions accompanied by Andean music and musical instruments typical of each region of the Altiplano & which also opens the doors for the celebration of INTI RAYMI ( Sun God Ceremony ).

Hence the research that accompanies this new cycle of inspiration, composition & musical art of URKU LLANTHU will be reflected among others in the third album, which is taking shape with this first musical beginning RUPACHINA.
