ΑΧΕΡΟΝΤΑΣ (that is ACHERONTAS spelt in Greek) that since 2007 presents a high quality occult black metal, is a few days to release the ninth full-length, Malocchio ​-​ The Seven Tongues of Δαημων. I was looking forward to reviewing this album. After all, ΑΧΕΡΟΝΤΑΣ is an entity from the obscure pantheons that are extremely attractive to me. This “fatal attraction” is easily explained through the factors behind ΑΧΕΡΟΝΤΑΣ. The band’s philosophy and militance come from mysticism, occult arts and magical rituals. The band calls itself a Magickal Coven, dedicated to the Ancient Sumerian Mysteries of Drakonian Blood. According to these sorcerers, “Many traditions embrace these ancient sources as footprints and take form in our Void as Astral Vampirism, Hermeticism, Kabbalah, Dream Workings, and Luciferian Magic.”

V.P. Sorcerer said: “True sorcery is not an art, it’s science… in order to dare, we must know, in order to will, we must dare. We must possess empire, and to reign, we must be silent. We are real to those with eyes to see…”
Allied to all this, they deliver a well crafted black metal, not to mention mix other musical styles with mastery.

“Malocchio – The Seven Tongues of Δαημων”, offers us seven tracks with a total duration of 42 minutes of splendour. Mixed and Mastered by George Emmanuel & the Coven at Pentagram Studio, the Sound Engineering & Production by George Emmanuel. Darja Kazimira is a special guest, and the stunning paint portraited in the cover album is from the Czech painter Maximilian Pirner (1854 – 1929).

The first track, “Lucifer – Breath of Fire”, features a precise and brutal attack from the drummer, accompanied by distorted and melodic riffs, worthy of the first step of hell.
“Leviathan – The Fervent Scales in Reverence” the guitar plays an essential role in this track. It is a work of reverence that, combined with the sinister vocals, envelops the listener in a veil of tense atmosphere.
“Belial – The Enn of Beliya’a”, follows the same line, as does “Hecate – Queen of the Crossroads”. Here you have no escape. Enveloped in total darkness, relax and follow the path.

The album has an impressive variety of vocal lines, and the guitars are the fundamental vein. The work is exquisite! “Satan – Exaltation of Unbeing” has a beautiful melody and is one of my favourite tracks. Despite all the obscurantism, the guitar solo that ends the track is touching.
“Choronzon – Webs of Alienation” features layers and layers of sound and vocals that interpenetrate. Closing this Infernal Ode, ΔΡΑΚΩΝ -ΑPOTHEOSIS is an awe-inspiring choice by ΑΧΕΡΟΝΤΑΣ.
Whether you are adept in the occult arts or not, or if you have a perception of reality beyond the borders of the material world or not, you will feel an unparalleled power.
The Seven Tongues of ΔΑΗΜΩΝ is highly recommended.
